Kim Mettler, RDH, is a Sioux Falls native and a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She received her Associate of Art degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of South Dakota in 1998.
Kim is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. She has worked with Dr. Smallcomb since 2000.
Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave and twin boys, Carson and Cole. She stays very active through the year watching her boys at their multiple school events.
Kaylee Knudson, RDH, is from Canton, SD. She graduated from the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene program, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree as well as a minor in Health Sciences.
Away from work, Kaylee and her husband Brett keep busy outdoors working on their house and spending time with their children, Hayden and Casey.
Beth Harkema, RDH, lives in Dell Rapids, SD. She graduated from the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene program with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Along with her husband, Casey and two children, Cole and Lily, Beth enjoys spending time with family, reading, and going to sporting events.
Laura Trumm, CDA is from Canton. Laura has her Dental Assisting National Board (DNAB) certification and is a licensed Dental Assistant. She is also a certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant. She has been part of the Falls Dental team since 1996. Laura enjoys meeting new patients and our long time patients have become like family to her.
Outside of the practice, Laura loves to spend time outdoors gardening and fishing on the Missouri River with her husband, her children, family and friends.
Leah Van Westen, CDA, is from Sherman, SD. She received her degree in Dental Assisting in 2005 from Minnesota West Community & Technical College in Canby, MN. Leah has worked with Dr. Frankman and Dr. Smallcomb since 2013.
Leah, with her husband and their son Cooper and Ruby(their miniature pincher) loves to camp with family during the summer months and ice fishing during the winter. Leah’s bubbly personality will put you at ease when you come visit us for your dental needs.
Ericka Kirsch, RDH is originally a North Dakota native. She received her Associate of Science degree from North Dakota State College of Science in 1999. Ericka has been employed by Dr. Smallcomb Since 2001.
Away from work, Ericka and her husband, Jay keep busy with their 3 daughters; Brynn, Taryn, and Bergen.
Maria Hup, RDH resides in Dell Rapids, SD. She received her Associates Degree in Dental Assisting from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls in 2009 and her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2014 from USD in Vermillion, SD. She has been with Falls Dental Center since 2018.
Outside of the dental practice, Maria enjoys spending her time outdoors doing gardening, boating, and spending time with her husband Daniel and sons Isaac and Adam.
Hollie Spilger, RDH, was born and raised in Sioux Falls and is a graduate ofO'Gorman High School and the University of South Dakota. She received her
Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2016. She spent the first 5 years of her career in the Omaha area and joined Falls Dental Centre in 2021. Holly has been a long-time patient of Dr. Smallcomb's before joining our team.
Hollie spends her time outside of work with her family. She and her husband, Nick, love to spend time in the mountains when they travel outside of Sioux Falls. Together they have two boys, Cash and Rory.
Julie Miller, CDA, is a native of northwest Iowa where she still resides. She received her degree of Dental Assisting at Spencer School of Business in Spencer Iowa. She has worked with Dr. Smallcomb since 2002. Julie enjoys working with our patients and getting to know them on a personal level.
Julie spends her free time with her husband and 2 grown kids and 5 adorable grandkids.
Lois is our administrative assistant and has been a valuable part of our reception team since 2008. Lois is extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of dental insurance and billing. If you have questions, Lois is the person to talk with.
Jan Smallcomb is our Business Manager and wife of Dr. John. She is a native of Chester, SD. She has business experience in the dental field for over 18 years. Jan continuously educates herself in the fields of practice management, healthcare updates, and financing.
Jan loves to travel with John to visit their two daughters, Molly and Meghan and her husband Josh and with their son, Matt and his wife Jacki.
Stephanie is the first smiling face who will greet you. She joined our team in 2010. She has been a friend and colleague of ours for many years. Stephanie lives in Sioux Falls with her husband and two sons. Stephanie will help you set up an appointment that works with your schedule. She excels at making you feel comfortable.
