Restorations

Amalgam Fillings and Composite Fillings

Most people recognize dental amalgams as the silver fillings. Resin composite fillings are often referred to as the tooth colored or white fillings. Both restorations are used on our office. At your visit we would determine which would be best for your tooth.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a treatment used to save a tooth that is badly decayed and/or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. At Falls Dental Centre we do most root canals but in some cases we do refer patients to the root canal specialists here in Sioux Falls.

Crown

Crowns are a restorative procedure used to improve your tooth's shape or to strengthen a tooth. Crowns are most often used for teeth that are broken, worn, or have portions destroyed by tooth decay. A crown is a cap cemented onto an existing tooth that usually covers the portion of your tooth above the gum line. We take a specific impression that is sent out to a lab where a dental laboratory technician fabricates the crown. Your crown is then sculpted just for you so that your bite and jaw movements function normally once the crown in placed.

Bridge

A bridge may be used to replace missing teeth, help maintain the shape of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite. Tooth loss can have a profound effect on your health and well being. An empty space for a missing tooth can destabilize the teeth and the consequences can be tooth shifting, bone loss and bite problems. A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, is esthetically pleasing and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. The success of any bridge depends on its foundation- the other teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it's very important to keep your existing teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong.

Partial Dentures

A partial is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth. They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile. A partial denture is used when some natural teeth remain. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting.
